What is the Council for Holocaust Education?

The Council for Holocaust Education, a partner body of the Community Relations Committee of the Jewish Federation of Tulsa, exists to coordinate the education efforts of teachers and students in Holocaust education in the greater Tulsa area.

What is the Educators Committee?

The Educators Committee provides guidance and feedback from experienced teachers about the needs of possibilities for Holocaust education in the Tulsa area. In addition to the time and effort they give their students they help the council think through its programs and offerings in Holocaust education.

The Council for Holocaust Education and the Sherwin Miller Museum of Jewish Art invited teachers of the Holocaust to a luncheon at the museum on Tuesday, July 27.
Susan Fenster and Rose Miller were sponsors of the event and welcomed everyone. Each teacher was asked to bring one or two other teachers to have a personal tour of the new “Anne Frank Exhibit” and to discuss future plans for Holocaust related presentations.

The Eva Unterman
Holocaust Education Fund

In Memory of Dawid Sierakowiak

This endowment fund of the Jewish Federation of Tulsa honors Eva Unterman, who as a child survived the ghetto and camps, and has gone on to lead our community in meaningful and poignant Holocaust interfaith programs.

At Eva's request, the fund is dedicated to the memory of Dawid Sierakowiak, whose diary recounts the hopes and suffering he experienced in the Lodz Ghetto before his death at the age of nineteen.

Eva has memories of a young man who came to the ghetto rooms her family called home and tutored her in Hebrew.  She believes that this young man was Dawid Sierakowiak.
